WHAT IS A RAINBOW BABY?⁠

I’ve never heard of this term until I started having more newborn photo sessions. It’s not a mainstream term because it’s something deeply personal to a family and it’s difficult to openly talk about such devastation.⁠ ⁠

By definition a rainbow baby is “a baby born subsequent to a miscarriage, stillbirth, or the death of an infant from natural causes.”⁠ ⁠

Sometimes it’s not easy to get pregnant.⁠ ⁠ And when you think you are, you make plans, and you create expectations. Then one day your world crumbles, when you find out that you won’t have the opportunity to meet your baby.⁠ ⁠

I remember every single one of these rainbow baby photo shoots because of all the emotion that is at those photo sessions. Parents are overjoyed because of the storm or storms that they’ve been through. And here is their rainbow (baby) after those storms.

For our first newborn and family portrait session we have baby Luca! We’ve known baby Luca since he was in mommy’s belly! We also did his first set of newborn pictures a week before these. Why did we pick him to be the star of our first studio photo session? Because look at him! So peaceful, chill, and cute!

At our studio, located 4950 North Washington Street, Suite 200, Denver, CO., we have a full set of props that we can place your newborn baby in. We could fill the basket with comfortable faux fur and capture the photo on the beautiful floors throughout…

You will also be able to choose from a number of backdrops and wraps for your baby to create beautiful art…

For now we have three choices for backdrops; black, white, and gray. We will keep building on these colors to provide you with more options.

The backdrops stand next to big beautiful windows to allow light in and soften your skin for your family portraits…

Brighton, CO. Newborn and Family Photography

I’ve known this beautiful family for 5 years and have photographed all their family milestones. After the first two boy we finally have a girl! She is soooo precious and sweet. She looks a lot like her brothers when we did their newborn pictures.

We started off with some solo shots of her in my new favorite prop (tiny bed!!!) and then we did some sibling shots. Toddlers are always going and going but we were able to capture some great shots.

Toddlers can be wild…

When it comes to a family portrait with toddlers we have to let them jump, hug, and release all that energy! This is who they are and it makes for a great picture.

I did their maternity and family pictures in March and decided to recreate this shot…

Once the boys and family were done with their photos, all our focus turned to this little angel. Thank you guys for everything! It was a pleasure!
