Washington park pictured above
With cooler weather and leaves changing all around Denver, autumn is a very popular time of year for photos (it’s my busiest time of the year). Gone are the bright and light summer clothes and in come earth tones, a scarf, sweater, or light jacket to make your fall pictures stand out. These are my top 5 favorite places for fall family pictures in the Denver, CO. metro area.Washington Park
This is by far the most popular because of all the pretty leaves! Everything south of Exposition Ave. in Wash Park is beautiful and picturesque; by the boat house, basketball courts, and off Louisiana and Franklin.Silo Park
This is a little known park off Orchard and I-25 and it’s is amazing! It’s small enough where you don’t have the crowds of Wash Park but it also has many options for pictures.Majestic View Park
This park is in Arvada, CO. which makes it metroish 🙂 It’s another small park but it’s lovely! I love to start around the main parking lot of 72nd Ave. You have a great view and amazing light if you go before sunset but what I love most are the colors of the leaves here. They are stunning!Belmar Park
This is another “metroish” park located in Lakewood, CO. It’s a huge park but I love to photograph around South Balsam St. and West Virginia Ave. Some trees come early October have red and orange leaves!!Clear Creek History Park
This area in Golden, CO. is the furthest away from Denver but it’s worth the trip! The leaves here start to change around late September and full blown vibrant colors are best the first week of October. I like to start off 11th St. and Cheyenne and then make my way down to the creek. It’s beautiful!City Park
Not in my top 5 but it deserves an honorable mention
Because of the popularity of the other parks, I rarely go to City Park for fall pictures. It should look nice off 17th Ave. and around York and 22nd. Let’s check it out together! 🙂
